"'Songworlds begins, after initial basic work with a 'Song circle'. Choose a song from any time in your life, a nursery rhyme, a love song, and the story or memory that tells of your connection to the song....."

Songworlds are workshops that invite you to explore the 'resonant field' of memory stimulated by song.

'Songworlds' was originally created as a foundation training for actors, in collaboration with my friend and colleague Michael Dick. In projects that lead to improvised performance, students engage in a very personal investigation into song, movement, feeling and memory. Memory acts as a doorway to essential experience; to permeability, vulnerability and humanity, qualities both for acting and for life.

'Songworlds' is now a part of the curriculum at Germany's largest independent acting school, Arturo Schauspielschule in Cologne.

Michael and I now see possibilities for the development of 'Songworlds' in other educational and therapeutic contexts, and welcome enquiries.

I also occasionally offer 'Songworlds' as a weekend or short course.

The link below is to part of the guideline curriculum written by both Michael and myself. It is included for interest rather than as a course description.
